Monday Made It Link Up

This will be my first attempt at linking up, so wish me luck!  I love all of the awesome ideas being shared at 4th Grade Frolics Monday Made It.  If only there was enough time to do it all!  Anyway, I wanted to share a few things I've been working on.

First off, I found these cute seats somewhere out there.  I'm not sure where, so sorry I don't know who gets the credit.  I am going to use these in my girls' rooms.  I plan to make a couple more for my classroom but I'll have to use sports fabric.  These are great for storing books, toys, games, etc. and doubling as a seat.  Fortunately, my husband is amazing with a saw and cut the plywood for the seat part.  I just added the batting, fabric, and staples.

And, like all the other teachers out there, I also made an organizer.  Not sure who actually originated the idea, but I LOVE IT!!  I am going to try to get rid of my teacher's desk, so this will keep all of the junk stuff I normally have in my drawers.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Baseball and Football and Soccer, Oh My!

Sports? Me?  Umm....  Anyone that knows me knows that I am NOT an avid sports fan.  I have knowledge of sports, but I'm just not that into them.  However, I must admit that I have been pretty excited since learning that our school theme will be SPORTS!  I've been making things like crazy and got the cutest rug at Target yesterday.  There's just so much I'll be able to do with this theme.

Another awesome thing happening at our school next year is the implementation of The Daily 5!  Can I just tell you how thrilled I am?!?  Here's a couple of cute posters I made for the Daily 5 and my new sports classroom.

I'll post more as I get to it.  If you have any ideas/suggestions, please feel free to leave me a comment.

The End!

Friday marked the end of another year.  It's never easy for me to say good-bye to my kiddos.  I cry every time!

To celebrate the kids' accomplishments through the year, I always host an awards ceremony.  I try to make it extra special and invite the parents to come.  For the past three years, I have used the same theme. It's kinda Hollywood style- red, black and white, popcorn, movie candy...  It's fairly simple to do, but looks really nice.

All of my kids receive a DVD with pictures taken throughout the year, at least 10 certificates, and a trophy.  I also do candy awards where I try to match the kids' personalities to candy.  Although I didn't get to take pictures of the kids with their awards, here's the way the room was set up for the occasion.

Sorry this is so blurry.  One of my parents sent it to me on my iPhone.  Her son was so proud of his awards.

All in all, I had a great year.  But, I am definitely ready for a break!
